In 1996 Futures For Tomorrow founder Tom Stoy was placed in Vocational Rehabilitation. Tom had worked in the meat business for years and because of this has sustained crippling arthritis in his hands and neck. This disability forced him to change occupations. While in Vocational Rehabilitation Tom had to undergo testing in Salina, Kansas and the results stated he should work one-on-one with people. A VR chief then advised him to start his own Job Placement business. Tom turned what some people would call a disability into a company that would let him help others in similar situations. He began taking classes to learn more about job placement and training of Job Placement Specialist.


In 1998 Futures For Tomorrow was founded in the south-central region of Kansas, which included 11 counties. Later in 2001 Steve Johnson joined the team and became co-owner in the same year. Together they expanded to northern and western Kansas. Drew Main joined Futures For Tomorrow in 2002 and later in 2003 he became State Manager. With his help they took the company state wide. In 2006 Drew and Chris Schicke also became co-owners.


Today Futures For Tomorrow is a successful and growing Job Placement Company. Our placement rates are in the 90th percentile and 50% of our clients successfully retain the employment we help them find. To this date we have never failed to find employment for a cooperative consumer, unless there were circumstances out of our control. We believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to work and prosper in a field they enjoy. By acknowledging that, we have hired consumers in both VR and EES. Some of these employees have even proven them selves by carrying the highest placement rates.  We currently have consumers in Topeka, Salina, Manhattan, Wichita, El Dorado, Winfield, Hutchinson, Independence, Coffeyville, Pittsburg, Chanute, and Columbus.
